Cable Car No.24

No.24 on Powell Street
The Cable Cars are still popular with guest of San Francisco but the vintage streetcars that run up and down Market Street on the F-Line are giving them a run for their money.  The secret to riding the Cable cars--if you need your fix--is to go Van Ness and California or California and Drumm and ride the California line. Ride it to Powell Street and jump on the Powell and Hyde Cable line past Lombard street on the way to western end of Fishermans' Wharf.

Still, if you want to avoid the long lines to get on the Cable Car at Powell and Market, jump on the F-Line streetcars which run from the terminus at 17th and Castro to Jones and Jefferson; but the streetcars are very popular as it might be difficult to get a set after 5th and Market and any where along the Embarcadero.

The F-Line, although a great way to see San Francisco, remains a commuter line for residents
